State Leadership Conference Photo Album

The weekend of March 19 & 19, fourteen DBHS students traveled to Sacramento to compete at the Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference. This was the 30th anniversary conference attended by more than 3,000 Future Health Professionals from around the state. It was an intense weekend of leadership, engagement, and service. I want to thank all of our supporters and sponsors as this past weekend would not have been possible without your support. For the third year in a row our chapter experienced wonderful results in competitions and this year came away with more individuals recognized than in years past. Here is a summary of our students' achievement: Elaine Yip, Senior 2nd Place State Finalist - Biomedical Laboratory Science State Finalist - Healthcare Issues Exam Gold Finalist - Barbara James Service Award Megan Chen, Sophomore 4th Place State Finalist - Human Growth & Development Knowledge Test Kevin Hsieh, Freshman 5th Place State Finalist - Medical Spelling Ajeet Bhatia, Senior 5th Place State Finalist - Behavioral Health Knowledge Test Kathleen Hsu, Junior Round 2 qualifier - Health Lifestyles Jamie Liang, Junior Round 2 qualifier - Health Lifestyles Nikki Jatwani, Senior Round 2 qualifier - Medical Assisting Elaine Yip, Senior & Hannah Zhang, Sophomore Round 2 qualifier - Emergency Medical Technician (team) Because of her success, DBHS HOSA will now be sending Elaine Yip to Orlando, FL this June to compete at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Biomedical Laboratory Science!
