A message from superintendent CYNDY SIMMS to our parents and community:
The Walnut Valley Unified School District needs your help. We began this school year with fewer teachers, larger class sizes, and cuts in specialized programs and supplies due to California's budget crisis. Even with the deep budget cuts, we have remained focused on providing an excellent learning environment for our students. Our outstanding teachers and staff members are giving their best so that our students can be the best.
Unfortunately, forecasts for the 2010-2011 California budget are equally dire. Walnut Valley will be required to cut an additional $4 million in services and programs by the start of next school year.
On Saturday, November 14, from 8:00 a.m. to noon, the Walnut Valley Unified School District will host a Community Forum in the multipurpose room at South Pointe Middle School.
The purpose of the Community Forum is three-fold:
