The Girls’ League of Diamond Bar High School Merit Scholarship Award is awarded to two graduating Diamond Bar High School senior students each year. Since Girls’ League is a service based club that reaches out to the community, a primary factor in our decision making process will be based on a candidate’s involvement in the community. To be considered for one of two $500.00 scholarships, or one of five $100.00 scholarships, a candidate must be enrolled at or planning to attend an accredited college or university during the 2009-2010 school year and must submit the following:
- A completed application with a 300-500 word type-written essay attached (Essay must express the value of your community service and what you have gained from the experience)
- A recent transcript that reflects a 2.5 or higher GPA
- A resume that reflects the candidate’s community service, with contact information made available to verify service
- Verification of acceptance or application to an accredited college or university program
- One letter of recommendation that speaks to why you are worthy of this scholarship (from a teacher, administrator, supervisor, etc.)
* Please submit this information in a manila envelope with your name, address, phone # and 1st period teacher to Ms. Pacheco in room 261 by: Friday, May 8th
* Potential awardees will be contacted for an interview to be conducted the week of: May 11th through 15th
Results to be announced: Monday, May 18th
