A celebration of life will be held at DBHS for former DBHS staff member Jack Cooprider who passed away in his sleep in December.
Jack was an original Brahma and a cornerstone of our school community. Starting in 1982, he served in many roles including Athletic Trainer, Equipment Manager, Assistant Track Coach, Assistant Football Coach, and Head Wrestling Coach. He was a valued and respected member of our school community, and his contributions to Brahma Athletics left a lasting impact. His commitment and impact were recognized when he was named Brahma-of-the-Decade in 2001 and WVUSD Classified Employee-of-the-Year in 2002. Jack is a member of the DBHS Coaches Hall of Fame.
Jack was originally hired into the WVUSD in 1974 and prior to working at DBHS, he was a PE teacher at Chaparral Middle School. In 1982, Jack joined DBHS, where he remained until his retirement in 2008.
After retiring from DBHS, Jack retired to Flagstaff, Arizona, with his wife Phyllis Cooprider.
