Air Quality Sensor Installed

With the generous support of the Walnut Valley Education Foundation (WVEF) Teddy Bear Grant, DBHS Athletic Trainer Chase Paulson was able to purchase and install an outdoor air quality monitor, giving our campus and community real-time, location-based data on the quality of our air.

Located just outside the athletic training clinic, centrally located to outdoor venues, this device allows us to make a better-informed decision as to what outdoor activities should be held outside on our campus, while keeping the health and wellness of our students, staff, and community at the forefront of that decision.

With recent changes to the CIF Bylaws on air quality, we can now make up-to-the-minute decisions for athletics, PE, and other outdoor activities to keep those with respiratory conditions safer. Access to the air quality data is currently available on Mr. Paulson's teacher page https://bit.ly/44EHR0D , and the device shares the data publicly on the PurpleAir website https://bit.ly/4doFBPb
