Tom Murickan speaks about AI in Medicine
Featured
A special “shout out” to DBHS senior Tom Murickan for his leadership in medical science and artificial intelligence! Tom founded AI-Med Club (Advisor, Science teacher Mrs. Diana Wai), a student club focused on artificial intelligence and medicine. This video shows him speaking last school year, when he was a junior.
AIMed (https://ai-med.io/) was founded in 2014 by Dr Anthony Chang, a practising pediatric cardiologist, CIIO at CHOC children’s and world-renowned expert on artificial intelligence (AI) with the goal of bringing together clinicians, physicians, c-suite executives and technology experts so they can start a revolution in today’s Medicine and Healthcare for a data-smart tomorrow.
AIMed Portfolio provides year-round education and networking opportunities for clinicians, solution-providers and thought-leaders alike through a series of international events, magazine and online-content.

Senior Sunrise - August 2019
Featured
Friday, August 30, 2019, Senior Sunrise…this morning at 5:45 seniors gathered on the football field to share the sunrise, snacks and most importantly camaraderie. Seniors ate donuts and breakfast burritos, drank coffee or hot cocoa, took pictures using different backdrops, wrote notes to their future self and enjoyed marking the beginning of their last year of high school together. It was a special morning and a great way to start the Class of 2020’s last high school year. Thank you to senior GLC’s Marc Natividad and Ginger Auten for being a part of the festivities and to Principal Dr Jones and interim assistant principal Matt Brummett for hanging out with us. The Senior Class officers and Advisers are so happy (and maybe a little sleepy).

FLASHBACK: Dale Favier Retirement
Featured
FLASHBACK: January 24, 1999, Diamond Bar High School held an event to say thank you and goodbye to its first activities director, Dale Favier. This video shows the opening skit performed by members of the large Buccola family, all of them Brahmas and children of retired DBHS Spanish language teacher Christine Buccola. In the video, you will see them impersonating staff members Dale Favier, Janet Roberts, Howard Alcosser, Bruce McNeil, Terry Roche, Diane Tobar, Steve Salmons, David Hong, Brenda Henson, Harrison Lindsey, Rick Valencia, Judy Dunbridge and Bruce Dunbridge.
After having traveled from North Monterey County with Principal Walter Holmes to open DBHS in 1982, Dale Favier helped establish many of the traditions that last until today. He was our first activities director, first yearbook advisor, first student store manager and the source of its nickname, "Fave's Place". We were saddened by his passing in April of 2014.
