The Wellness Wednesday group is hosting a virtual 5K next Wednesday, Veterans Day, 11/11 at 11:11 am! Wear red, white and blue in honor of our veterans or Brahma purple and run or walk on the zoom link below. You can jog in place in front of your camera, hold out your phone during a run, or jog six feet away from a buddy and record each other. This isn’t really a race so much as a fun community event where runners and walkers will be spotlighted as inspirational running music is played for the 30 minute race, and anyone viewing will be able to just watch the runners. To participate, or to follow along, join this zoom on 11/11 at 11:11 am!

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Every year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. With its 39th cohort of awardees, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has bestowed more than 10,000 awards to over 9,000 schools, with some schools winning multiple awards. Schools are eligible for nomination after five years. The coveted National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.
