Congratulations to Diamond Bar High School alumna Ashley S. Lee (c/o 1995) on her promotion to Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army! Her promotion ceremony occurred at the Pentagon on September 22, 2017. In attendance at the ceremony were her family and DBHS graduates, Patrick Lee (c/o 1994), Christina (Kim) Renegar (c/o 1993) and Elizabeth (Kim) Bingold (c/o 1995).
Diamond Bar High School is very proud of Ashley’s accomplishments and thankful for her years of continued service for our country.
Lieutenant Colonel Lee earned her commission from the University of California, Los Angeles in June of 2000. LTC Lee entered active duty service in November of 2000 at the Home of Army Aviation, Fort Rucker, Alabama, as a flight school student. She earned her aviator wings in December of 2001 and completed the AH-64D Apache Longbow Advanced Qualification Course in June of 2002. She proceeded to Camp Page in Chuncheon, Republic of Korea, for her first assignment as an Attack Helicopter Platoon Leader in Bravo Company “Paladin”, 1-2nd Attack Helicopter Battalion.
LTC Lee’s subsequent assignments include: Platoon Leader in the world-famous “Blue Max” C/1-229th Attack Battalion during the unit’s AH-64D Unit Fielding and Training Program at Fort Hood, Texas and redeployment to Fort Bragg, NC; Executive Officer of the “Hurricanes” HHC/3-3rd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III; Assistant S-3 of the “Death Dealers” 4-2nd ARB; Company Commander (Cmdr) of the “Grim Reapers” B/4-2nd ARB; Company Cmdr of the “Horsemen” HHC/4-2nd ARB; Aviation Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/T) on the “Eagle” Team at the National Training Center (NTC); Secretary of General Staff for the Commanding General of the NTC and Fort Irwin, CA; OIC of the Horn of Africa (HOA) Air Component Combat Air Plans; Secretary of Joint Staff of Combined Joint Task Force – HOA, headquartered in Djibouti, Africa; Operations Officer of the “Spearheads” 3-227th Assault Helicopter Battalion; and Executive Officer of the “Lobos” 2-227th Aviation Regiment.
LTC Lee is currently enrolled in her last class for a Masters degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Strategic Leadership from Trident University International.
