Thursday, September 19, our THUNDERING HERD color guard and marching band began parade season at the LA County Fair in Pomona.
Uploaded Sep 20, 2019OCTOBER 2018 ARTISTS OF THE MONTH - Students were asked to create a color pencil design involving figurative and abstract patterns. The four color sections represent key rules from color theory (Warm, Cool, Complimentary, and Monochromatic). In the center of their design is a childhood cartoon that they loved growing up. The work of these four artists were chosen as the most admired by their peers in Mr. Hwang's Fundamentals of Art class.

Clare Choi, Academy Cellist, made her debut at age 12 playing the Saint Saens Cello Concerto with the Diamond Bar High School Symphony Orchestra as the winner of the 2015 Diamond Bar High School Concerto Competition, and most recently received second prize in the 2020 Diamond Bar High School Concerto Competition. She also participated in the Southwestern Youth Music Festival for several years, receiving first prize on numerous occasions. An avid chamber musician, Clare Choi has explored a multitude of works with other students through the Diamond Bar High School Performing Arts Academy, receiving coaching by Yoshika Masuda of the Rolston Quartet. Clare Choi has held the position of Principal Cellist of the Diamond Bar High School Symphony Orchestra since 2018 and Co-Principal Cellist and Principal Cellist of the 2019 and 2020 Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Symphony Orchestras, respectively. She has had the fortune of collaborating with conductors such as Sey Ahn, Sameer Patel, and Gene Moon while performing in various venues. Clare Choi is currently studying privately with Yao Zhao while completing her final year at Diamond Bar High School. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, discovering new books, and finding new boba shops to visit.
We are proud of the 53 Diamond Bar High School Brahma musicians who performed in the 2021 ALL-SOUTHERN High School Honor Concert. There was over 1500 kids from close to 200 high schools that auditioned. About 300 were accepted, with 53 from Diamond Bar.
The Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association proudly presents the 2021 High School Honor Concert. This video presentation features the work of over 300 of the top student musicians in Southern California performing as the SCSBOA HS Honor Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Johannes Stosch, the Symphonic Band , under the direction of Dr. Gregory Whitmore, and the Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Dustin Barr.
