1) In your groups, you will choose a history of animation topic at random to present Google slides and an approved video.
It should be 6-10 slides, and include a drawn visual. One slide should include your credible sources (.org, .edu, or check with Mrs. Dizon). One slide should also include a link of a short video.
2) One drawn visual with your era, an image, and your group member names.
3) Add the link to your presentation on the Google document below.
An animation historian can divide the emergence and history of animation into distinct periods. They are:
1. The Age of Discovery (1824-1895) - Dr. Joseph Antoine Plateau(a Belgian scientist) and Dr. Simon Rittre, phenakitstoscope, and Eadweard Muybridge
2. The Age of Invention - (1875-1895) Louise Lumiere, Cinematograph, Thomas Edison, Kinetoscope, nitrate celluloid film
3. The Age of Creation - (1885-1925) Felix the Cat, The Alice Series, Walt Disney (age 19), The Debut of Thomas Cat, Rotoscope Process
4. The Golden Age of Animation - (1925-1945) El Apostol, The Jazz Singer, Steamboat Willie, Masoaka, Popeye
5. Atomic Modern - (1945-1965) The Two Mousketeers, Speedy Gonzales, When Magoo Flew, 101 Dalmatians, Pink Panther, TETSUWAN ATOMU (ASTRO BOY)
6. The Dead Years (1965-1985) - The Dot and the Line, Dragon Ball Z, Scooby Doo, Winnie the Pooh, Industrial Light and Magic by George Lucas
7. The New Golden Age Part 1 (1985-2005) - Disney Renaissance (Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, etc), The Simpsons, Studio Ghibli
(ie. Princess Mononoke or choose animations to present),
8. The New Golden Age Part 2 (2006-present) - 3D animation, Unreal Engine (The Mandalorian), Frozen, Pixar Studios (i.e. Inside Out or choose animations)
