A variant of the Confiker computer virus attacked computers at schools throughout our school district this week. District technicians have worked hard to contain the spread of the virus and are working on eradicating it on all computers.
Since many students take files home on flash drives, it is suggested that students make sure their home computers always have updated anti-virus software. There are free anti-virus products offered by Microsoft ( CLICK HERE) and AVG (CLICK HERE) that are available for download.
Mac users are immune from the Confiker virus. Students who use Microsoft Windows at home are advised to download and run both of the following virus removal tools:
