Congratulations to DBHS junior Mi-Hyun Suh for being named the First Place Winner of the 48th Annual Edith Knox Performance Competition. Entrants to this competition are required to perform a full concerto with piano accompaniment for the preliminary round.

Mi-Hyun had been selected as one of the five finalists to compete in the Final Showcase Competition of the Edith Knox Performance Competition where prizes first through fifth are awarded. As the First Place Winner, Mi-Hyun will be performing the complete Concerto no. 2 by Frederic Chopin as soloist with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Gary Berkson, on June 28, 2020 in the auditorium of Redondo Union High School. Mi-Hyun will also receive a scholarship of $1,600 and an honorarium of $1,000 to perform a solo recital on June 5, 2020 in the Classical Crossroads' First Fridays at First concert series.
