Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the WVUSD Board of Trustees approved Mr. David Hong as Principal of Diamond Bar High School! David returns to DBHS where he spent nearly 30 years as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Dean, AP Teacher, and Coach. Welcome home David!
This is amazing news for our students, parents, staff and community! David returns to us after four-years (2019 -2023) working for the College Board as the Director of AP Environmental Science. Prior to his service at the College Board, David served as our Assistant Principal (2016 - 2019), Assistant Principal at Monrovia High School (2015 - 2016), DBHS Instructional Dean (2001 - 2015) and AP Science teacher (1990 - 2001).
During his tenure at DBHS, he was recognized in a variety of ways including being named Teacher of the Year and receiving the Outstanding Educator Award from the University of Chicago, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara. He was also named as the Coach of the Year by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. He will begin in early July 2023.
