WEEK 7 – September 26 - September 30, 2016 

Reflection: 

During the month of September, the results of the National Merit Semi-Finalists are announced by the CollegeBoard. I am honored and excited to report to you that this year 17 Diamond Bar students qualified for this prestigious honor! Their scores placed them in the top 1% out of about 1.5 million juniors who took the test.  This places them in the nation’s elite group of National Merit Scholar Semifinalists, one of the most prestigious honors a senior can receive. This year’s Semifinalists include:

Jason Ahn, Shannen Barrameda, Vinay Bhupathiraju, Benjamin Chen, Connie Chen, Justin Chuang, Brandon Hung, Peyrin Kao, Su Min Kim, Vickie Kuo, Aaron Lee, Adeline Lee, Monica Lin, James Lo, Leslie Sim, Sabrina Tseng, and Joanna Zhang.  

Our students are so talented. I want to say a special thanks to all of our Diamond Bar parents. Our school thrives because of the job you have done with your children. On behalf of the staff at Diamond Bar, thank you for all you have done and continue to do for your children!

I hope you were able to take advantage of the enormous college presence on campus last week. On Monday (9/19), we hosted the WVUSD College Night. The evening was full of college presentations, nationally known guest speakers and personal connections with hundreds of colleges. Special thanks to Rachelle Romero, Career Center/ROP Coordinator for organizing the event!

• Tomorrow, Tuesday, 9/27 is LATE START schedule.
• Homecoming Dance is Saturday, 10/15. All tickets must be purchased in advance at the USB store. Pre-sale tickets begin Monday, 9/26 until Tuesday, 10/11. No tickets will be sold at the door.  
• Seniors Portraits: Seniors take their photos off campus at our school photographer’s studio. There is no charge for an untouched yearbook photo. If you want your picture enhanced or would like to use multiple poses and use props, there is a $50 sitting fee. Please make an appointment with our school photographer ASAP! Time is running out!
