Saturday, September 30, our Diamond Bar Future Business Leaders leadership team hosted their first ever, Leadership Development Institute (LDI) at Diamond Bar High.  Normally, every October they attend a Southern California LDI in Riverside.  Over the last few years, there was so much interest from Diamond Bar Students, our leadership team decided to host their very own conference, which included:  a mini Shark Tank, Stock Market workshop, Men’s Warehouse guest speaker, and other workshops geared to learning more about FBLA and the different choices that the organization provides. 

Saturday morning started with a wonderful message from Diamond Bar Alumni (Class of 2012) Lavanya Jawaharlal (Business owner – STEM USA, Shark Tank contestant).  Then next few hours allowed students to choose a workshop that interested them.  It concluded with students looking at over 50 different events that the FBLA organization provides.  Mini Con guests could look at a single page informational packet, then take a 20-25 question exam to see what kind of questions might be answered.  Congratulations to all of the DB FBLA officer team, under staff adviser Ty Watkins, who successfully hosted this event.
