Graduation Requirements

COMMUNICATION ARTS
  • English 40 Credits
  • Foreign Language 10 Credits (or 10 credits in Fine or Visual Arts) 
DEVELOPMENTAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS
  • Science 20 Credits
  • Mathematics* 20 Credits
  • Beginning with the Class of 2004 students MUST pass Algebra I.
HUMAN RESOURCES
  • Physical Education** 30 Credits
  • Social Science*** 30 Credits
  • State Required Course (SRC) 5 Credits 
VOCATIONAL AND CREATIVE ARTS
  • Fine/Visual Arts 10 Credits (or 10 credits in a Foreign Language)
  • Applied Arts**** 15 Credits
  • Computer 5/10 Credits 
HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAMS

According to state law every student beginning with the Class of 2006 must pass the High School Exit Exams in math and reading. These will be offered intermittently through their high school career.
  • TOTAL ACADEMIC CREDITS 170 Credits
  • TOTAL ELECTIVE CREDITS 50 Credits
  • TOTAL GRADUATION CREDITS 220 Credits  
  • Maximum acceptable credit toward graduation for Work Experience 20 Credits
  • Maximum acceptable credits toward graduation for Student Assistant 20 Credits
  • No course shall satisfy more than one requirement simultaneously 20 Credits
*10 of these credits must be taken in Algebra I. The other 10 credits may be taken in either Math, Computerized Accounting, Introductory Architecture & Engineering Technology, Advanced Architecture & Engineering Technology, or Business & Personal Finance. These 10 credits must be taken in the 11th or 12th grade, unless Geometry has been taken and passed prior to grade 11.

**9th and 10th grade students must take PE each semester of enrollment. Juniors may be exempted if they are enrolled in 6 academic classes. Seniors may be exempted from P.E.

***Must include 10 credits of World History taken in 9th grade. Must include 10 credits in U.S. History to be taken during the 11th grade. Must include 5 credits of Civics and 5 credits of Economics taken during the 12th grade.

****The 15 credits of Applied Arts may be taken in Industrial Studies, Business Education, Computers, Visual and Performing Arts, Pep, Dance, Leadership, Yearbook, Journalism and ROP and must include a course which demonstrates computer literacy

The Minimum Number of Completed Credits Required to register in the fall, 2007:
  • 10th Grade 50 Credits
  •  11th Grade 110 Credits
  • 12th Grade 160 Credits
