WorkAbility I Program Mission Statement:

The mission of WorkAbility I (WAI) is to promote the involvement of key stakeholders, students, families, educators, employers, and other agencies in planning and implementing an array of services that will culminate in successful student transition to employment, lifelong learning, and quality adult life.

WorkAbility I Program Information:

The WorkAbility I (WAI) grant program is funded and administered by the California Department of Education (CDE) and offers students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) the opportunity to complete their secondary education while also obtaining marketable job skills for success in the modern labor market. A variety of useful tools to understand effective job-seeking and job-keeping skills are available. Furthermore, services available to students with an IEP are: interest/personality-based career assessments, comprehensive pre-employment skills training, employment placement, and follow-up for high school students who are transitioning from school to work, independent living, and post-secondary education or training.  Program services are appropriate to individual student needs, abilities, and interests; hence, the employability of students improve.
