It's finals week! I will not be seeing you until the day of the final so here are some reminders:

1. We will be returning The Catcher in the Rye books during finals so please bring them if you have not returned them already.
2. Your PostSecret projects are due on the day of the final.

If you want your student packets back to help you study for the final, you can come and pick them up in our classroom.

I am including a review sheet and the trivia questions we did not get to - I will not be collecting them but it may be helpful for you to use as a guideline.

The Catcher in the Rye

For students who would like extra credit (15points possible), watch the new The Great Gatsby film and complete the worksheet below using complete sentences. If you do not think you will be able to watch the movie by the 24th, please come see me for an alternative assignment.

Please bring all your study question responses and quotation analyses to class tomorrow. One more day left of instruction!

Today we continued discussing the title and a member of each group presented the posters to the class.

Enjoy the weekend; there is no homework. However, the AR Test is Tuesday so please be prepared.

On Thursday, we discussed the significance of the title of the novel, The Catcher in the Rye.

Homework is to read chapters 23-24, complete the study questions and the quotation analysis.

Tuesday, we completed a clinical assessment lab report for Holden.

Homework: Read chapter 19-20, complete quotation analyses and study questions (17-20).
Quotation analysis quiz on chapters 15-20 Wedesday.

Read chapter 17-18 then complete quotation analyses and begin answering study questions (#1-3).

On Friday we took a reading quiz on chapters 5-14.

3rd: We wrote a journal entry and discussed Holden's solution to loneliness.
4th: We wrote a journal entry on craziness and evaluated Holden and the controversy surrounding the novel.

Homework: Read chapter 15-16, complete study questions and quotation analysis.

On Thursday, we went over study questions for chapters 9-12 and discussed the importance of Holden's curiosity about ducks.

Due Friday:
Quiz on chapters 5-14
Read ch. 13-14 and complete study questions, quotation analysis

Wednesday's homework due Thursday:

Read chapters 11-12
Complete study questions on a separate piece of paper
Quotation analysis

Please read chapters 9-10 and complete the study questions as well as the discussion quotations.

The class activity on Tuesday was to write a "burn book," then to re-write it in a socially acceptable language.
