Began analyzing Primary Sources for Structured Academic Controversy (SAC) on the controversial question: Was Lincoln Racist?.  Continue tomorrow in small groups for class "debate".

Homework: Using the essay your partner wrote last night for homework, complete the Historical Essay Outline, in order to identify which components of the writing process students are already using in completing the writing assignment.  Stamp on Monday.

Thursday, 9/4 - Focused on completing the 1st writing/ "essay" assignment for the year.  Use the information and documents previously examined in class to respond to the following prompt:

 

Your response should be a minimum of 1 page, and focus on a "Yes" or "No" answer, supported with details from the information we have covered up to this point.  This assignment will be used to assess your current essay-writing skills, and to determine what adjustments should be made in future writing assignments.

This assignment will be stamped tomorrow.
