AP Psychology (Period 2)

Course Description

AP Psychology is a college level course designed for students to explore the science of human behavior and mental processes. Students will engage in critical thinking and enhance their reasoning skills as they analyze psychological issues related to concepts from different theoretical frameworks (e.g., Pavlov’s classical conditioning, Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory) or subdomains (e.g., cognitive psychology, developmental psychology) in the field. Students are expected to master scientific research principles as they design, analyze, and critique research studies. In addition, students will develop and practice skills that are necessary for success in a college level course.
