School Board Recognizes Eagle Scout Cole Pettus

Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees recognized Boy Scout Cole Pettus during the September 16 meeting.

The Diamond Bar High sophomore has just achieved the highest ranking of Eagle Scout. Requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges, demonstrating Scout Spirit, service and leadership.  This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages.

Cole chose Evergreen Elementary School as the site for his community service project. During the summer, he and fellow scouts from Troop #777 cleared and re-planted several planters on campus.

"We couldn't be happier he selected Evergreen for his project!" said Principal Dr. Don Trimmer during the presentation.

Shown:   Cole Pettus received a Certificate of Special Recognition from WVUSD Board President Helen Hall.
