Diamond Bar’s dominance in the region carried over to an elite level.

Led by Angelica Kusnowo, McCabe’s lineup was among the best in California and proved it by finishing third at the CIF State Championships in November. For that effort, McCabe is the Sun/Bulletin’s Girls Golf Coach of the Year.

Diamond Bar’s team total of 386 on Nov. 19 at Poppy Hills was nine strokes back of first-place Palo Alto and one stroke back of runner-up Fullerton Troy.

Kusnowo shot 2-over-73 to lead the Brahmas, followed by Emma Han’s 75 and Irene Park’s 78.
