Congratulations to FOUR Brahmas who recently earned the rank of Eagle as members of Scouts, BSA. Senior Evan Thomas, junior Justin Lou and junior Brandon Wu are members of Troop 730 in Diamond Bar. Josiah Shin is a member of Troop 737 in Walnut. The rank of Eagle is the highest rank that can be achieved after several years of learning skills, performing service and showing leadership within a troop. Congratulations!
Evan's Eagle Project was the construction of a fence to surround the pollinator plants in the Diamond Bar Community Garden.
Justin's Eagle Project involved building storage units and cornhole tosses for the nonprofit organization HOH, which specializes in carrying out indoor and outdoor activities for special needs kids.
Brandon's Eagle Project was landscaping and gardening for the Saint Matthew’s United Methodists Church, which included the trimming of bushes, planting of succulents, and laying of a mulch foundation along the main wall.
Josiah returned to his alma mater, Chaparral Middle School, to do his Eagle Project. Chaparral is where he discovered his passion for track and field, specifically short distance sprint and long jump. His project was the construction of two 72-foot concrete runways for long jump and triple jump, as well as the refurbishment of 10 outdoor basketball backboards. With the completion of this project, Josiah hoped to provide tangible ways to support his fellow student athletes.
