On Friday, February 19, Raytheon hosted an engineering event for students. Congratulations to junior Brandon Sim, sophomore William Chou and junior Asad Akbany. These three students did a great job representing our school at the competition. We placed third among nine teams. These students participated with Raytheon engineers as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a competitive event involving engineering design and construction.
This year the competition required the students to use a computer application to calculate the best measurements for building a trebuchet. They then applied the measurements and completed a real trebuchet. They brought the machine back. It is currently displayed in room 206 along with the trophy and competition guidelines.
