UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA-UC APPLICATION WORKSHOP
UC Admissions Application is open for students to work on. Students will not be able to submit the UC Application until November 1-30, 2020.
Traditionally in September/October, DBHS hosts an application workshop for the UC Application as we welcome a UC representative to review their application. Instead of this traditional format, this year, we are utilizing virtual workshops prepared by the UC System schools in the format of Instructional Videos. In addition, as previously announced and discussed, the University of California-UC Admissions Application is open. Students may begin completing the application now. Students will not be able to submit the UC application until the November 1-30 submission period. Plan ahead, we suggest students submit this UC application prior to going on our Thanksgiving break to avoid “peak-use” time on the application server. Below is a link for an excellent series of Instructional Videos produced by the UC system and hosted by UCSB. There are (9) videos ranging from 2-6 minutes each and are easy to view and listen to with great information.

SENIOR PROFILE PACKET
Seniors applying to a university, which requires a letter of recommendation, must complete and submit their Senior Profile Packet-SPP. As previously announced, the submission process of the SPP is being done electronically this year. Students are to submit the SPP with the Google Form which can be found on the Class of 2021 Webpage. Students are to carefully read the information/instructions on the Google Form. Students should verify, per instructions, that the SPP was received properly by DBHS. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure the SPP was received by DBHS. Students who have chosen to apply to any university via Early Action or Early Decision have already submitted their Senior Profile Packet. If you have submitted your SPP to Mrs. Tampio, you must CONFIRM receipt-It is your responsibility to confirm submission in two ways:
- You received a confirmation email from Mrs. Tampio that your Senior Profile Packet was received and was complete.
- You check the Class of 2021 Webpage for the SPP Submission List. Your student ID should be listed if your SPP was submitted and received successfully. The most recent Submission list is complete through Senior Profile Packets submitted by Noon on Wednesday, September 2nd.
The last due date to submit your Senior Profile Packet for all Rolling or Regular Admission Options is Friday, September 18th Keep in mind, don’t wait for the due date, submit your SPP as soon as you have it ready!
Students applying only to UC and/or CSU campuses DO NOT need to complete the Senior Profile Packet!
GRADUATION CAP & GOWN, ANNOUNCEMENTS, MORE SENIOR GEAR ETC.
Typically, at about this time of year, in a non-pandemic environment, we would be having Senior Meetings where we answer questions about cap and gowns for your graduation! Herff Jones is our vendor for graduation products and their webpage is now activated to accept orders. You may go to the Herff Jones website at http://socalgraduates.com/ to purchase your cap, gown and tassel.
There are many additional items that you may purchase from Herff Jones including announcements, key chains, class rings and other mementos. If you just would like the basic package of the cap, gown and tassel it is currently $35. (scroll down the bottom of the page to where it says “shop individual products including cap and gowns”).
There is a form posted in the assignments, found at the GOOGLE icon/waffle under Classroom. Look for Class of 2021 under link and then go to “Classwork” so we can get your approximate height. This will guarantee that we have the correct quantities and sizes for our graduating class this year!
