Three Brahma seniors will be hosting and moderating a virtual Town Hall for Diamond Bar City Council candidates this Friday, September 25, at 6 p.m. The event will be streamed on the “The Original Diamond Bar Buzz” Facebook group and is being produced by residents Vicki Hoffner and Teruni Evans.
The event invitation for the Candidate Town Hall will come very soon and there will be several ways to access it.
CANDIDATES: Bill Rawlings, Tommy Orona, Aaron McElrea, Jen Fred Mahlke, Ruth Low, Stan Liu, and Sam Castorena will be present.
Here are details about the talented and passionate Diamond Bar High School seniors who will be moderating:
Diego Tamayo -
Diego is our host for the evening.
Diego advocated for local environmental protection during Diamond Bar’s General Plan Update. He recorded the City’s biodiversity on the iNaturalist database over the last three years. He is a member of DB Boy Scout Troop 730 and is currently an Eagle Scout candidate. He is Vice President of the DBHS Theatre Department. He cares immensely about the well-being of our community and is humbled to be participating in the local civic process.
Allison Santigrossi -
Allison will be sharing Moderator duties. She is President of the DBHS Theatre Department. She is a member of Solitaire, the women’s show choir, and a member of the Performing Arts Academy. Outside school she is a Girl Scout and a volunteer for Team REACH, an organization for promoting mental health awareness. Allison enjoys being actively involved in her community. She plans on pursuing a career in musical theatre.
Julia Ruelas -
Julia will be sharing Moderator duties.
Julia is our current Miss Diamond Bar. She has been a member of the DBHS United Student Body and class committee. She has played Varsity soccer since her freshman year, while juggling honors and AP classes and duties that go with her title since being crowned in March. She has operated a small business for four years and her future plans include going into business. When not busy with homework, painting, or serving the community, she can be found enjoying time with friends and family.
