On Friday, March 19, junior Brandon Sim presented his research, "Mathematical Modeling of Feedback Regulation in Multistage Cell Lineages", at the Southern CA Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.
This was a very elite group of students competing. The judges were UC Irvine physics professors. One judge was very aggressive in his questioning of the students. They were understandably intimidated. Brandon was unflappable. He confidently and calmly responded to each of their questions.
The top two students were chosen to compete in the national competition in Bethesda, MD at the end of April. Brandon is one of the two.
