Congratulations to junior Irene Park for finishing 3rd in the CIF Girls Golf Individual Championships.
Irene shot a one over par 73 to finish 1 shot back of the winner. She tied for second and took third place in all of the Southern Section (140 golfers) on a card-off. The Brahmas that have won the CIF Individual Championship are Bethany Wu 2013 and Emma Han 2019. Crystal Wang 2014 was the third place finisher as well as Irene Park.
Some well-known golfers that have also won the CIF Individual title are Tiger Woods, Phil Mickleson, Rickie Fowler, Lydia Ko to name a few.
The team shot 411 and lost out of qualifying for state by one stroke. It’s always one stroke.
This ends the season for the Girls Golf team.
Irene will compete as an individual on June 15 in the SoCal Championships.
The State Finals was cancelled for this year.
