50th Anniversary Fun Fact! Diamond Bar High Technology Coordinator and WVUSD Alumnus Randy Thomas was the school’s first student body president. In fact, he even has a copy of the speech he gave during the opening day rally held in the gymnasium on September 12, 1982. “Well, we finally made it to Diamond Bar High,"Randy said to his new schoolmates. "The Brahmas are here!”
We asked Randy to share a Walnut Valley USD memory for the 50th anniversary celebration: “While completing my teaching credential at Stanford, I was offered a job at the Bay Area school at which I was student teaching. I was given a short amount of time to respond and quickly called DBHS Principal Robert “Bob” Corkrum, expressing my interest to return to DBHS as a teacher. The quality of instruction and professionalism brought me back. I’ve always felt that WVUSD put students as its first priority.”
