Greetings Class of 2025 Students and Parents,
Class of 2025-Incoming Diamond Bar High School 9th Graders-We are settling in to our routine…
We are your Grade Level Coordinators-GLCs who will work with you and guide you through the next four years of your schooling here at DBHS. Periodically, we will send out a GLC Newsletter with timely announcements which affect our class. We encourage parents and students to closely read these GLC Newsletters and avoid missing out on important topics, deadlines, announcements etc.
DUE PROCESS MEETING WITH STUDENTS
On Wednesday, August 11th, we met with all 9th grade students during their English class. DBHS ID Cards: Should be with student at all times.
Dress Code: See Powerpoint for specific details.
Attendance: Our 9th graders need to be in each class every day and need to arrive on time.

GLC LOCATIONS-AVAILABLE TO TALK
Mr. Patterson and Mrs. Duenas along with all DBHS Grade Level Coordinators are out on campus during our morning break (Brunch) and during lunch. It is a great time to stop and talk with us. Mr. Patterson floats to all parts of our campus and Mrs. Duenas is in the main lunch area for the first 12-weeks of school. As we discussed during our summer meeting, emailing us is also a great way to reach us. Email addresses are below. In addition, any GLC on campus can reach Mr. Patterson or Mrs. Duenas for your student and our guidance secretaries in Office 106 (Mrs. McCurry and Mrs. Tampio) will also reach us for your student when asked.
CHROMEBOOK LAPTOP COMPUTER DISTRIBUTION
Chromebook computers were issued to all 9th graders on Thursday, August 19th. Students should use these computers at home and at school as needed and instructed to by their teachers.
NO BOOK LOCKERS
Reminder-Book lockers are not being issued to 9th graders due to the loss of lockers due to construction on campus. Students should discuss textbook use with their teachers including if textbooks need to be brought to class daily, digital versions of the textbook etc.
REMIND TEXT MESSAGE SYSTEM
We use a REMIND Text message system (no cost) to send out important reminders etc. to students and parents. Please ensure your student has registered for this system. Parents are also encouraged to register. See the links below for instructions:

ATHLETICS TRYOUTS
Students interested in trying out for DBHS Athletics teams must do the following to ensure they are aware of when tryouts take place:
- Check the Athletics Webpage often
- Listen to the weekly Brahma Bullsheet (School Bulletin) read period 4 on Mondays
- Read Dr. Jones’ (DBHS Principal) weekly Brahma Briefing which is emailed to primary parent email addresses and student email addresses. The Brahma Briefing is also posted on the Class of 2025 Webpage, DBHS Webpage etc.
- Students must complete the Athletic Clearance process prior to any tryout on campus. The Athletic Clearance process includes paperwork and having a physical examination done by a physician. See the link below and get started with this process now!
FREE FOOD FOR STUDENTS
Food is available at no charge to ALL DBHS students at this time. There is no registration process or qualifications which must be met. In the morning before period 1 and during the morning break (Brunch), breakfast items are available at the main food lines in the main lunch area. At lunch, food is available at the main food lines in the main lunch area and also at several locations on campus. Students simply need to find these locations and take advantage of this program. Please only 1 meal per student per visit.
LUNCH/MONEY ETC. DROP OFF POLICY
Please do not drop off forgotten lunches, money, or other packages for students at our attendance office. It becomes very problematic for staff to manage the many, many items left for students for pick up.
Off Campus Food: Please do not bring lunch to your student from off campus food establishments. This too can become a security issue.
COURSE SCHEDULE CHANGES
We are only making adjustments to schedules to correct mistakes, level changes etc. Changes in elective courses are discouraged-students need to settle in and enjoy the elective class chosen way back in March. If a “qualified” schedule change is needed, student must submit the Google Document using the link on our DBHS Guidance Webpage. Link is also below:
