Congratulations to Brahma junior Nathan Chu for qualifying for the prestigious Tournament of Champions debate tournament, compromised of the best debaters throughout the United States. To qualify, he needed to do well in two previous tournaments.

SEPTEMEBER 4

Nathan placed SECOND at the Loyola Invitational debate tournament. He reached the finals after 11 rounds that included 120 students.

SEPTEMBER 18

Due to COVID restrictions, Nathan’s second debate was held online, instead of being held at Cal State Long Beach. Out of 86 students competing in his event, Nathan placed second, debating 10 rounds to reach the finals and losing on a 2-1 decision (2 judges voted against him, one judge voted for him). He was the 14th speaker and had a 5-1 winning record.
