REMINDERS/ANNOUNCEMENTS ETC…

Greetings Class of 2025 Students and Parents,

Class of 2025-Diamond Bar High School 9th Graders

As your Grade Level Coordinators-GLCs, we will work with you and guide you through the next four years of your schooling here at DBHS.  Periodically, we will send out a GLC Newsletter with timely announcements which affect our class.  We encourage parents and students to closely read these GLC Newsletters and avoid missing out on important topics, deadlines, announcements etc.

GLC PRESENTATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2025

This past week, February 22-25th, we met with our 9th grade students for two days during their English class.

The first day, we introduced our 9th Grade Career Unit which is basically discussing the options our students have after high school graduation.  We call it the Post-High School Options Presentation.

On day 2, we presented 10th grade course registration materials.  Students have approximately 2 weeks to prepare their Course Registration Card for their 10th grade school year.  We will be collecting registration cards during the week of March 7-11.  Students were told their specific Due Date during our presentations.  We encourage our students to take time now to visit us, email us etc. with their course selection questions.  On the day we collect the registration cards, we simply don’t have the time to address multiple questions about class selection.  We are eager to meet with our students to address their questions.

Many details were discussed each day.  We encourage you as parents and our students to review the Power Point Slides for each of these presentations.

You will find both of these PowerPoint Presentation slides on the Class of 2025 webpage and we have also provided links to each of the presentations below.

STUDENTS MUST SIGN UP TO MEET WITH GLC FOR REGISTRATION MEETING-MANDATORY

Each 9th grade student received an email last Monday, February 21st to their Student Email Account regarding registering to see their GLC this summer for our annual and mandatory GLC Registration meeting.  As we did last summer, we will meet each summer with parents and students to discuss multiple topics including:  9th grade progress, college plans, graduation status, and 10th grade academic schedules etc.

This email provided directions to our students to follow to ensure they sign up to see their GLC.  Please discuss this process with your student.  Students will have access to a program called SIGN UP GENIUS starting March 11th at 4:00 pm through March 14th at 8:00 am to select their registration appointment date and time.  GLCS will be meeting with students and parents from July 5-July 29th.  If families have limited availability during this July 5-29th time period, we encourage your student to access the Sign Up Genius link early in the process on March 11th.  Please note the information regarding DBHS Siblings on the link below.

Summer School

Each 9th grade student received in the past 2-3 weeks, information regarding our summer school programs.  Keep in mind, students, generally, do not have to attend summer school to maintain academic progress. Some students who did not perform well in a semester-1 class may need to enroll in summer school in order to maintain progress towards May, 2025 graduation; however, other students may choose to enroll in summer school to take a class of interest.  Below is a link to information students have already received.
