Saturday, July 9, 2022, our Brahma community was saddened to learn of the passing of one of our former teachers, William “Bill” Foley. As shared by his family, “Mr. Foley was on a morning bike ride to the beach, his favorite weekly ride with his buddies, and had a bad bike crash.” Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Foley’s family, and we are deeply sorrowed by the loss of our colleague and friend.
Mr. Foley was an amazing person, who was known for his kindness and self-less service. He taught students for 36 years, was DBHS Teacher of the year for the 2016 -2017 school year, and then became Walnut Valley Unified School District Teacher of the Year the same year.
His photography work was outstanding, and he shared this passion with his students, his colleagues, and our community. Mr. Foley was a great photographer, and he was gifted at capturing amazing moments and blessing others with this gift. You can view his photo website at https://billfoley.zenfolio.com/
At Mr. Foley’s retirement (2021), Ms. Julie Galindo (his Instructional Dean) wrote, “Thank you Mr. Foley for teaching us to see beauty in everything around us, for inspiring us to pursue our passions, and for positively impacting all those around you.”
