WALNUT, CA-- Please save the date for our 2nd Annual 5K Run Walk and 1K Fun Run. The Walnut Valley Educational Foundation will host this important fundraiser to benefit Walnut Valley schools on Sunday, March 6 at 8:00 a.m. at Diamond Bar High School located at 21400 Pathfinder Road.
The Walnut Valley Unified School District has given our best to our students and community for 41 years! We MUST raise funds to support our exemplary education, inspiring athletes, premiere art and music programs, and state-of-the-art technology. Please plan to participate and bring your family and friends!
Last year’s first-ever event was a huge success. Over 2,100 supporters attended the event that also marked the District’s 40th birthday. Medals were awarded in many categories and everyone had fun! This year, we are hoping to double our participants.
Walnut Valley students, staff, retirees, parents, friends, local government officials, and volunteers came together showing the spirit of our community. This kick-off fundraiser event that also celebrated past accomplishments raised over $67,000!
Participants ranged from experienced adult and student runners, walkers, even parents pushing strollers!
Many of our schools challenged students and parents with donation goals – and it worked! Evergreen Principal Dr. Don Trimmer promised a water gun fight if 100 students registered. At the event, they were awarded School Spirit Cup. At school, the student participants, their principal, and a physical education teacher had a very splashy victory celebration. And after winning their challenge, Chaparral Middle School students enjoyed watching their principal Ron Thibodeaux wear a chicken suit for the day.
It's easy to register on-line by clicking HERE. Registration and sponsorship information will be sent home with Walnut Valley students the first week of February.
