Congratulations to Brahma senior SIMON WORKU who broke his own all-time record of 9:31.08 in the 3200 meter by 12 seconds at Redondo Nike Invitational.
The evening of March 25, Simon competed in the Azusa Pacific University Meet of Champions Distance Classic in the Seeded 3200m with Diamond Bar High School's all-time record earning him a seed in the lower half of the heat.
His 5th place finish with a time of 9:19.45 was 6 seconds faster than the national qualifying standards for Arcadia.
Lukas Amare (DBHS C/O 2020), the previous record holder for the event and the current record holder for the 1600m, was in attendance to watch his cousin's strong performance. Lukas now runs for UC Irvine.
