Hello,
 Over the last two days we met with all Seniors in their English classes. Here is the information we discussed with them:

1. Senior Schedule for 2nd semester - please double check to make sure that your second semester is correct. Please see your GLC if there is anything that needs to be corrected.
2. Deficient grades and schedule changes: 
   1. Graduation: All students must pass any graduation requirements with a D- or higher to earn a diploma from DBHS. 
   2. College/University: If a student earns a deficient grade (D or F) or if a student drops a class off their schedule, then they must report these deficient grades or schedule changes to any University they applied to.
3. Senior Bulletin - READ! We polled every senior class to see how many of them have been reading the Senior Bulletin. It was worrisome to see that most are not reading this valuable resource. Students need to take responsibility for their future, know what they are supposed to be doing, and read things that pertain to them. The Senior Bulletin takes about 10-15 minutes to read through and EVERY student should be putting this time into their futures.
4. FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) - We know this application will open by December 31st. Once the date is released we will send another Parent Square notification for all to complete. Students and parents can take steps now in preparation. Students will need to first create their accounts, then they can invite their 'Contributors'. The deadline is April 2 but the sooner the application is completed, the sooner financial aid information will be distributed. See more here: https://studentaid.gov/
5. Cap and Gown - There are two more scheduled dates to get your cap and gown for graduation, January 24th and February 8th. Please find the needed information here https://dbhs.wvusd.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1689226&type=d&pREC_ID=1846278
6. Mt. Sac Community College- Mt. Sac will be coming to DBHS and presenting to all seniors on January 30th. They will then host workshops for any student interested in attending Mt. Sac and will help them complete this process.
7. Universities that have extended their application deadline – We have received emails from 3 universities regarding extended deadlines: 
   1. UC Merced – January 15
   2. CSU Channel Islands – January 31
   3. San Francisco State University – March 30
