Ruojin Wu Fighting Hunger & Waste

Congratulations to Brahma junior RUOJIN WU for being chosen as a 2023-2024 National Youth Advisory Council Member for Kroger Co’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste environmental and social impact plan. This year, more than 1,500 students were considered for this Youth Advisory Council role. Only FIFTEEN were chosen. We are immensely proud to have such a remarkable representative from Diamond Bar High School in this national leadership program.
Over the last several years, The Kroger Company has engaged youth with Zero Hunger | Zero Waste activities, workshops, and awards. This is the second year of selecting and collaborating with a 15-member Youth Advisory Council of committed student leaders across the US who have invested time and talent into issues including hunger, climate, and responsible consumption and recycling.

The program officially kicked off in November 2023 and will conclude and be celebrated in May 2024. Each student is working with their local community partners. Our team is supporting check points with the Youth Council via interactive webinar sessions including content, planning support, and of course dynamic discussions. Ruojin has designed, is actively planning, and will lead a Community Impact Project this semester in Diamond Bar, California. We are committed to encouraging innovative solutions to achieve Zero Hunger | Zero Waste and based on Ruojin Wu’s Zero Waste project proposal, we are issuing a micro-grant to their nonprofit partner to collaborate and support this youth-driven initiative.
