Congratulations to Academy Oboist Jesse Hu on his acceptance to the 2024 Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra!
The VFJO is an esteemed international orchestral training program for talented musicians. This summer, Jesse was one of 54 students from 23 countries selected to gather in Verbier, Switzerland, where they will be mentored by the orchestra’s Music Director, James Gaffigan, and receive coaching from accomplished musicians from around the world.
Jesse will have the opportunity to collaborate with renowned international soloists Tsotne Zedginidze and Josef Špaček. With the ensemble, he will be performing a variety of renowned works such as Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite and Ravel’s orchestral transcription of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at the Exhibition.
