End Of Season For Boys Tennis

Our boys tennis team made an atypical early exit from the CIF post-season playoffs with a 6-12 loss against the #2 seed, Arcadia High School. Arcadia's experienced senior line-up proved too much for the young Brahmas to overcome.

Still, the second round match was much closer than the final score indicates. Long, hard-fought points occurred throughout the day. After trailing early in the match, 1-5, Junior, Naoki Hisamoto and freshman, James Phan pulled off a Round 2 upset against Arcadia's number 2 doubles team, 6-4 to help keep any hopes of a DBar team victory alive. With six sets remaining and trailing 4-8, the decision was made to give all reserve players a final 2011 opportunity to play.

Diamond Bar finished another great season with a 15-5 overall record. Great things are ahead, as four starting freshmen and one sophomore will be returning in 2012 to continue the Brahma Legacy.

Speaking of Freshmen, this Friday, Diamond Bar's very own "Giant Killers", Kenny Sakata and Minsong Hsu travel to Riverside to compete in the Individual CIF Doubles Competition. Wish them luck.

Thanks for all your support throughout the 2011 season.
