Former Brahma Jonathon Amaya continues to be relevant in the National Football League.

After spending a successful season as defensive specialist with the Miami Dolphins, Amaya has swapped rosters with New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush in an announcement that broke Thursday.

Amaya will be teamed up with former class of 2005 Dimaond Ranch High School alumnus Charles Brown, who was drafted by the Saints in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft.

After a successful career at USC as a tackle, Brown was considered one of the top rookie blockers last year.

Both the former Brahma and Panther will look to leave their mark with the Saints on special teams.

Standing at six-foot-two with a slender build, Amaya’s athleticism cannot be denied.

He led the Dolphins in special teams tackles last year after being picked up from special teams’ mid-way through the season.

During his time at University of Nevada - Reno, Amaya also impressed with his quick hands and ability to find his way to interceptions, recording seven interceptions during his senior year.

At Diamond Bar, Amaya also served as a wide receiver and racked up 679 yards and 9 touchdows his senior year with the Brahmas and was also drafted to play baseball with the San Francisco Giants.
