On Friday, April 13th, the Diamond Bar High School Football family put on its 2nd annual Texas Hold Em Tournament at the Diamond Bar Golf Course. Over 130 parents, coaches, and members from the community came out to support this wonderful event. At 6:00 our Brahma Mascot greeted guests as the event opened up with social hour, silent auction bidding, and dinner.
At 7:00 the Casino opened up as 85 poker players stepped in with hopes of winning an iPad2, Flat Screen TV, or some digital cameras. Other guests got in the mix playing black jack, roulette, and craps for some other raffle prizes auctioned off throughout the night. Guests also had the luxury of receiving a free 10-minute massage from Massage Envy.
Susie Vernon kicked off the live auction as people battled for Angel Tickets, preferred parking spots for their kids, VIP Graduation Field Seats, and VIP Football tickets to all the home games. As soon as the live auction ended blinds went up and poker players slowly began dwindling down. With 3 players remaining, all the stakes came down to one final hand. Tony Knight came out victorious winning the iPad2 and Steve Acciani finished second winning a flat screen TV.
Thank you to all the parents, administration, community members, and businesses for making this event an amazing night. Can't wait for next years event! Photos from the event are on our web site (CLICK HERE) thanks to Jorge Lopez.
