Junior Sylvia Guan Earns Spot On Fairplex Board

Story By Renee Hernandez, Fairplax

Each year The Learning Centers at Fairplex offers the community’s high school students an opportunity to be involved in the happenings at Fairplex as junior members of its governing Los Angeles County Fair Association. The Junior Fair Board students are selected through a competitive application process, and participate during their junior and senior year. Through hands-on community projects, students develop their leadership skills, career exploration and community involvement. In addition to these opportunities, the students are awarded a cash scholarship to support their post- secondary education.
