235 Tote Bag Co.: a project of our virtual enterprise class is selling non-virtual tote bags as a class fundraiser.  Their company is selling three different lines of bags to meet a variety of consumer’s tastes and needs. Sports bags and tote bags are $12 each and Eco bags are $10 each. Sports bags display the “Brahma Pride” logo made from 210 Denier Nylon and heavy duty drawstrings that are a must-have for every athlete! The Tote bags are 100% cotton and display “I ♥ DBHS” and are perfect for everyday needs while displaying school pride and spirit. Lastly, we sell environmentally-friendly grocery bags that display “Eco-Brahmas” as the logo. This not only saves the environment, but it also supports DBHS. All-State Honor Band: 15 Diamond Bar High School students earned a spot on California’s All-State Honor Band.  They will perform in a special formal concert in Fresno on February 24 during the California Association for Music Education’s annual conference.  We are very proud of our students as well as their wonderful teachers, Mr. Steve Acciani and Ms. Marie Sato.

BOEING CORPORATION will be giving our Brahma Tech students a unique opportunity on February 19.  Boeing is hosting several local students to participate as they celebrate the many contributions engineers have made to this nation and their company. Their goal is to provide our students with insights to their Boeing products and awareness on the application of math and science in the real world. Our students will listen to several guest speakers that will share their experiences to enable them to get a greater understanding of the various science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers at Boeing.  Brahma Tech students will also be competing in the Raytheon competition on the 22nd. For more information on our Brahma Tech program, click here.

Brahma Boosters February Meeting: The Brahma Boosters Organization would like to invite all DBHS Supporters to attend the next Brahma Boosters meeting which will be held on Tuesday, February 26 at 7 pm in the Golden Horseshoe.  Come to this meeting and get insights on how you may become a Booster Member and be a part of the Booster support team.  They are a tremendous part of our ability to continue to provide educational opportunities to your children.

College Scholarship & Financial Planning Workshop: Diamond Bar High School’s SAPA is hosting a college scholarship and financial planning event presented by Mr. Steve Chen.  The event will be held in DBHS’ library on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.

Do you want your child to attend a UC or CSU? If you are not familiar with the A-G Requirements for eligibility, please click on the following link to inform yourself.  If you’re not familiar with these, it’s time to start asking some questions! http://www.calstate.edu/sas/publications/documents/CSU-UC_a-gMatrix2011-12.pdf

Drug Dogs Are Back: In an effort to deter drug possession on campus, Interquest Detection Canines are back.  They will visit our campus from time to time to help us in our efforts to make our campus a safer place for your children.

US Presidential Scholar: It is with great pride that I announce that Diamond Bar High School has another Presidential Scholar!  Senior Michael Sun is among a very select group—in fact, only 141 Presidential Scholars are chosen in the entire country!        All Presidential Scholars are invited to Washington, DC for the National Recognition Weekend during which they are presented with a prestigious Presidential Scholars Medallion during a White House ceremony. Congratulations, Michael!
