It’s not often that our boys tennis team opens it’s season with a loss. Friday, February 22, the Brahmas lost their season opener to a gutty little Sunny Hills squad, 6-10, with the match called due to darkness.

The young boys tennis team had some serious soul searching to do before playing a very early league opening match Tuesday, February 26, against league rivals, Walnut. Again, our team felt the pressure as they fought hard just to come out of the first round with a 3-3 tie. But, from then on, it was all Brahmas! Our team took the second and third rounds, 5-1, 5-1, to take the win, 13-5. 

Outstanding efforts were given by all players. Highlighting the match was a near sweep of all singles sets, 8-1, with Elijah Ang and new Freshman Garrett Masuda both beating Walnut’s number one singles player. Minsong Hsu and Kenny Sakata established themselves, again, as the team to beat in the league as they swept there doubles sets. Our next match is Friday, March 1, at home against El Dorado.
