Class of 2017,
Greetings!
Topic 1:
We are closing in on the first 6-week grading period which ends on Friday, September 27, 2013. Keep in mind that the grades your student receives on the 6-week progress report are just that “a report to you of your student’s progress so far”. These grades are not permanent and are not placed on your student’s transcript. You will receive a progress report at the 6 and 12 week period of the semester and then you will receive a report at 18 weeks which is the end of the first semester. These dates are on your student’s calendar in the Student Handbook. The 18-week report card grades are permanent and will be placed on the student’s academic transcript. Generally you will receive the 6-week progress report in the mail about 1 week after the end of the grading period so expect your student’s 6-week progress report grades in your mailbox around Friday, October 4th or Saturday, October 5th.
Topic 2:
We strongly suggest you visit the Parent Portal to keep up-to-date on your student’s progress in class including attendance. You should contact us if you do not have a Parent Portal account! In addition, when needed, communicate directly with your student’s teachers.
Topic 3:
Keep checking our school website www.dbhs.org for school announcements etc. Encourage your student to not only pay attention at school on Monday’s when the Brahma Bull-Sheet is read, but to also check the school website regularly for important announcements!
Topic 4:
Remind your students of the tutoring programs available on campus. The programs are listed on our school website under Guidance and also the Class of 2017 link.
Topic 5:
