On Saturday, February 22, the DBHS journalism program participated in the annual Eastern LA County JEA write off competition at Schurr High School in Montebello.

For the first time in a few years, we placed three students in the Top 3 of individual categories:

Joseph Park (11) finished first in sports writing.

Gloria Kim (12) finished second in editorial cartooning.

Emily Wong  (11) finished third in feature writing.

Also earning Top 10 placements were Xing Yen Quek in photography, Hanna Kang in editorial and Angie Zhang in layout. In novice news, freshman Bernard Chen finished 18th.
