Our boys tennis team is currently 7 -2 in league. West Covina, Diamond Ranch and Los Altos could not win a single set in a combined six matches, while Bonita could win only six sets total. CIF #5 ranked Rowland, however, proved one set stronger in the first round, beating our team, 10-8.
Thursday, May 1, they try to even the score when they play Rowland again at Rowland High School. A set of unfortunate circumstances fell into place giving Walnut an unexpected advantage over Diamond Bar in match one. One of our top players was injured prior to the Rowland match and was not able to play against Walnut. Neil Tengbumroong, currently the #1 seed and undefeated singles player in the league, was out of the line-up, playing a major national tournament. This was enough to give Walnut an 11-7 win in the first round. Rowland, Walnut, the league finals and the play-offs all lie ahead. GO BRAHMAS!
