Dear Parents and Students,
I am very pleased to welcome you to Diamond Bar High School’s 2014-2015 school year! We are very excited to welcome the freshman class of 2018 and as well as our returning students back from summer break.
Diamond Bar High School is one of the best schools in the state of California as well as one of the best in the entire nation! Every year we are ranked by the Washington Post, US News & World Report, and Newsweek Magazine as one of the best performing schools with a balance of activities and open, equitable access to Advanced Placement courses for our students. There are many ways in which your child can find his or her place on our campus with over 75 clubs, 19 Varsity sports, some of the best fine and performing arts programs, and classes that will challenge him or her to grow intellectually over the next few years.
I’d like to tell you about some upcoming events that will help you become part of our learning community and to get informed about the college admissions process sooner than later.
- Thursday evening, August 21, at 5:00 pm is our annual Rodeo Roundup event. This is a great event to become familiar with our community, have a great meal, and meet teachers, parent volunteers, and other community members. Our Magnificent 7 Parent Group Organization will be selling $5 meals, we will have student performances, and the evening will culminate in our football 4-way scrimmage. Please come out and join our community!
- On September 11, we will be holding our annual Back-To-School evening at 7pm. Please stay tuned for additional information regarding this event.
- On September 17, at 7 p.m. in the theater, we are planning a parent meeting to familiarize you with the college admissions process. It is never too early to start!
- Paul Kanarek, Founder of the Princeton Review will give you an inside look into the college admissions process. Paul travels all over the world to discuss admissions to American schools, is frequently quoted in the press about all things admissions and has promised that if you spend 60-75 minutes with him, that you’ll leave both more informed and more optimistic about the entirety of college admissions. Please plan on joining us that evening to take advantage of this valuable insider information. First come, first served, theater maximum capacity is 400.
Again, welcome to Diamond Bar High School where we strive to provide a balanced, challenging educational opportunity for our students. We look forward to meeting you at Rodeo Roundup tomorrow night , Back-To-School-Night on September 11, and at other events throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Principal Catherine Real
