DBHS Makes The Daily Beast's List Of Top High Schools

On Wednesday, August 27, The Daily Beast website posted its list of "Top High Schools 2014" in the nation and ranked Diamond Bar High #7 in California, #15 in the West and #54 in the nation! Congratulations to the students and staff.

The publication ranked DBHS:

#7 overall in California

#54 overall in the United States

#86 ACT/ACT Scores in the United States

#86 Rigor in the United States

#84 Graduation Rate in the United States

The Daily Beast used six indicators culled from school surveys to compare public high schools in the U.S., with graduation and college acceptance rates weighed most heavily. Other criteria included: college-level courses and exams, percentage of students with free or reduced lunch, as well as SAT and ACT scores - another mark of how well a school prepares students for college.

According to the national rankings, the top California schools are:

#13 Whitney High School (Cerritos)

#19 Oxford Academy (Anaheim Union)

#33 Troy (Fullerton)

#37 Dougherty (San Ramon)

#44 Palos Verdes Estates

#48 Orange County School of the Arts

#54 Diamond Bar High School

As you can see, that places Diamond Bar High School as the 7th best high school in the state.  Of those 7, it is safe to say that we are one of only two open enrollment schools that doesn’t screen in/out students based on ability. This is truly something to be proud of and a great testament to our vision of balance, rigor, sense of community and the four A's: Academics, Activities, the Arts, and Athletics.

Great job, Brahma Community!
