Brahmas Competed In Moot Court In Washington, D.C.

Six students from the DBHS Mock Trial team competed in a Moot Court competition at the American Univ Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.

Over 100 competitors from schools all over the U.S. competed in a mock Supreme Court argument over a possible first amendment infringement in a case about a girl punished for wearing a tuxedo to school.

The six competitors from DBHS, Sharon Zhang (12), Holly Thomas (12), Kylie Choi (11), Ava Wu (11), Rachel Jo (11), Frances Song (11) were all very impressive. After 4 rounds of competition on Saturday, only 32 of the 100+ go on the Sunday. Three of our students got to compete Sunday and Sharon Zhang made it to the finals, she came in second. An extremely impressive accomplishment.  It was very exciting. And, as usual, the DBHS students carried themselves with honor, and sportsmanship

Side note, three 2008 alumni who joined them, all three now work in DC, a lawyer, an employee of the Republican National Committee and a lobbyist for the Firemans's Union in that order: Michael Dee, Elliott Hulse and Marin Skokandic.
